Privacy policy
Privacy is a fundamental human right, and a core design value for Pathify.
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected by the Pathify app.
Personal information is data that can be used to identify or contact a single person. Pathify does not solicit or collect any personal information about its users. Pathify has no sign-in and does not create any accounts on behalf of its users. Information collected by the Pathify app, including location history, remains confined to the device from which it originated. Activities are tracked while the app is running in the background only when tracking has been enabled through explicit user action. Data collected include timestamped locations with elevation, heading, speed, travel mode and state of battery charge.
Pathify integrates mapping services provided by Mapbox, Inc. Mapbox privacy policy Pathify does not provide exact, real-time user locations to Mapbox. Mapbox offers to collect anonymous usage data known as telemetry to update and improve the map. Pathify app opts-out of telemetry by default. Users may learn more and choose to opt in via the Mapbox info button in the corner of the map.
Location data collected in the app can be deleted within the app, on a per-activity basis. Settings are stored locally on the device. In the initial version of the app, it is not yet possible to export any data, such as activities, from the app, except by taking a screenshot of the running app.
In the future, to benefit users, Pathify is likely to gain new features that offer to collect personal information, securely transmit or share data collected by the app, including real-time and prior location information. Any such features would be disabled by default, and designed to minimize exposure to privacy risks, while giving users maximal visibility and control over what is shared, with whom, for what span of time. This privacy policy will then be updated with details.
